David Arquette was seen kissing his new girlfriend Christina McLarty, on New Year’s Eve after window shopping on famous Melrose Ave.
MSN.com reports on David’s milestone year of sobriety:
The 40-year-old actor tweeted on Friday about his milestone and thanked his family and friends for their unwavering support, reported Us magazine.
“Today marks 1 year of sobriety for me. I thank God for the strength and guidance and my family and friends for their love and support & I [thank you],” Arquette wrote.
Splitting from wife of 11 years Courteney Cox in October 2010, Arquette, father of Coco, 7, checked into rehab on January 2, 2011 after months of erratic behavior.
Seeking treatment for “alcohol and other issues,” the ”Scream” star later opened up to Oprah Winfrey about his drug-riddled past.
“When I had my first drink of beer, I must have been four-years-old,” he told Winfrey in February, adding that he also recalls stealing pot from his father at age 8.
“I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it. And I remember that.
It”s one of my earliest memories.”
Now clean and sober, Arquette reasons that “life is beautiful.”

Our longtime favorite Leilani Dowding sends a Christmas gift for all her fans by hitting the beach with her boyfriend George French, whom she met on the VH1 reality show, “Tough Love: Miami.” The couple weren’t afraid of dishing out some PDA action as they fooled around on the beach. Following yesterday’s London premiere, the cast of ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ hit NYC’s famous Ziegfeld Theater this evening for the big premiere. I gotta admit, Rooney Mara is looking absolutely amazing on the red carpet, so major props to her team of stylists. The film, which hits theaters on December 21, is directed by David Fincher and stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara as the mysteriously cracked-out Lisbeth Salander.

December, 2002: Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), publisher and part-owner of the left-wing Swedish political magazine Millennium, loses a libel case involving allegations published about billionaire financier Hans-Erik Wennerström (Stefan Sauk). Blomkvist is sentenced to three months in prison, ordered to pay hefty damages, and to pay all court costs. Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) is a surveillance agent employed by Milton Security. Milton had been contracted to investigate Blomkvist. Salander delivers a comprehensive report on Blomkvist to a lawyer, Dirch Frode (Ingvar Hirdwall), on behalf of his only client, 82 year- old, Henrik Vanger (Sven-Bertil Taube). He is the former Vanger Corporation CEO. Blomkvist is invited to meet Vanger, who hires him to investigate the disappearance of his great-niece, Harriet. Harriet vanished on Children’s Day in 1966. Vanger not only believes that Harriet was murdered, but that a member of the Vanger family is responsible. He shows Blomkvist a small collection of framed, pressed flowers that Harriet had given him on his birthday since she was eight years old. In the attic is a collection of the framed flowers he has received at every birthday since her disappearance in 1966. He suspects that the sender could be Harriet’s murderer. [Source]

USA Developing Drama About America’s First Female Detective Kate Warne
EXCLUSIVE: USA Network, the network of top female spy Annie Walker from Covert Affairs, is developing a drama series about Kate Warne, U.S’ first female detective who also worked as a spy for the Union government during the Civil War. The project, which will be written/co-executive produced by Adam Sussman and produced by Sony Pictures TV, is described as stylized with a contemporary feel. In 1856, Warne became America’s first female detective when she joined the famous Pinkerton Detective Agency. Along with Allan Pinkerton, Warne did work for the Union government. She was part of the Pinkerton team that uncovered a plot to assassinate President-elect Abraham Lincoln, events that will be at the center of the pilot script. Pinkerton had received an unconfirmed tip about a plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln on his way through Baltimore to Washington DC to take office. Warne went undercover as a rich southern lady visiting Baltimore to try to corroborate the information. She infiltrated secessionist social gatherings in the Baltimore area as a flirting “southern belle” and not only verified that there was a plot to assassinate Lincoln but also uncovered details about the plan and later played a key role in the covert operation to safely take Lincoln to DC.
