Red Carpet Ladies: Disney ABC Television "TCA Winter Press Tour"

ABC got into the mix of things to promote the winter tv schedule with a launch party at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena last night. For 2012, ABC’s newest offering is Work It starring two dudes dressed up as women to keep a job in a bad economy. It replaced the canceled Man Up and so far has received negative reviews so our guess is that it’ll be joining the list of canceled shows soon enough.

Other mid-season replacements to look out for are Good Christian Belles, Missing, The Revolution, The River, Scandal, Apartment 23. For more info Shows at ABC.com.

The Forevermark & InStyle “A Promise Of Beauty And Brilliance” Golden Globe Awards event at the Beverly Hills Hotel brought out a lot of celebrities and by that I mean a lot to the point where that’s going to dominate today’s posts. The event honored Michelle Williams for reasons we didn’t bother looking up considering that there were many photos to go through.

As we stated in the Audi and Martin Katz Golden Globes Kick-Off Party, it’s expected that leading up to this Sunday’s award show that there’d be many parties and therefore many photo ops for celebs who want us to remember that they’re still around. NYC: Fashionable Celebrities @ National Board of Review Awards (NBR)

The 2012 award season officially starts with this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards, but the sideshow is pretty much in full swing. The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures held its annual awards show last night at the Cipriani 42nd Street hall. Many A-listers made time for the event and most gave a very promising showing from a fashion standpoint as they practiced striking poses for flashing cameras ahead of bigger award shows in the coming weeks.

With regards to the awards doled out, George Clooney won for Best Actor (“The Descendants”), Tilta Swinton bagged “Best Actress” honors (“We Need to Talk About Kevin”) and Martin Scorsese scored another “Best Director” honor for his work on “Hugo.” You can view the full list of winners on the NBR website.

With a total of 17 shows premiering in 2012 across all networks, so there’s gotta be at least a couple long-term gems hidden in the stack. I’m still running through “Breaking Bad” on Netflix and I got “Boardwalk Empire” next on tap, so I’m always in search of a new classic to help waste even more precious time and pack on some extra weight.

With NBC’s big party going down on Friday, the Fox network held their winter party for prospective advertisers last night at the The Green Castle in Los Angeles. Here are the new shows that Fox will be pimping to the masses (via Hollywood Reporter):

Finder, Fox

Premieres: Thursday, Jan. 12, 8:00 p.m. ET

A loose spin-off of veteran procedural Bones, creator Hart Hanson takes a more whimsical approach to crime-solving with this series about an eccentric war vet who can find anything. Starring Geoff Stults as sleuthing Walter Sherman, Michael Clarke Duncan joins as his right-hand man and legal representation.

Napoleon Dynamite, Fox

Premieres: Sunday, Jan. 15, 8:30 p.m. ET

Nearly 7 years after the indie comedy about an awkward youth with unparalleled fighting skills hit theaters, Napoleon Dynamite is now a cartoon series. Original stars Jon Heder, Tina Majorino, Aaron Ruell and Sandy Martin among those lending their voices to their old roles, now forever preserved in high school.

Alcatraz, Fox

Premieres: Monday, Jan. 16, 8:00 p.m. ET

Lost gurus J.J. Abrams and Elizabeth Sarnoff hope for success on another island with this supernatural mystery about Alcatraz prisoners returning modern day San Francisco after disappearing when the notorious prison closed. Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia and Sam Neill headline the ensemble trying to figure out (or cover up) what’s really happening.

Touch, Fox

Premieres: Monday, March 10, 9:00 p.m. ET (Preview episode Jan. 25)

Kiefer Sutherland stars as a single father whose mute, 11-year-old son communicates through numbers. Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Undercovers) and Danny Glover co-star in the drama from Heroes creator Tim Kring. As Glover explained to Sutherland in a preview: “Your son sees everything in the past, the present, the future. He sees how it’s all connected.”

What a great lifestyle! The 27-year-old Virginia model, who once (and maybe still?) serviced Hollywood bigwig producer Michael Bay, continued her sugar-daddy-funded luxurious vacation in Miami Beach. Nothing new to report here since Lauren’s entire life is pretty much a vacation, but I guess one of the juicy fruits of being hot & open to sex with mostly deep-pocketed men.

Lauren was spotted at the beach on Sunday rocking a purple and pink bikini. Besides running around the beach striking provocative poses, she was also seen grabbing some food from a nearby taco truck (not that she ate any of it).

Julianne Hough continued her Ryan Seacrest-funded St. Barts vacation. Such activities from a sugar daddy all expenses paid vacation include hanging out on the yacht with some jet skiing and staying in a private secluded villa. We’re definitely assuming that Julianne’s paycheck from Footloose didn’t contibute considering Seacrest earns an estimated $55 million a year, $15 million/year for American Idol.

The 11th season of American Idol premieres on January 18th on FOX.
