Match.com Just Got A Little Less Sex Offender Friendly
This might be good news for anyone looking for love online. Match.com is setting a new standard of safety and other dating sites just might follow their lead.
The Consumerist Reports:
Match and several other online dating sites have been reluctant to go down this path in the past, but now the site is the subject of a lawsuit brought by a customer who alleges she was sexually assaulted while on a Match.com date with a man who would have turned up in a search for sex offenders. The site tells the AP that it was planning on making this move anyway, but the lawsuit hastened their decision.
“We’ve been advised that a combination of improved technology and an improved database now enables a sufficient degree of accuracy to move forward with this initiative, despite its continued imperfection,” a rep for the company tells the AP, with the caution that, “[W]hile these checks may help in certain instances, they remain highly flawed, and it is critical that this effort does not provide a false sense of security to our members.”
The sex offender screening should begin in two to three months. No word on whether or not Match’s parent company IAC will institute this policy at its other dating sites, Chemistry.com and OKcupid. We’ve asked IAC for comment and will update if they get back to us.

Dating website Tastebuds.fm, which matches potential partners based on their music preferences, asked singles how far they’d be prepared to go on a first date and discovered desperate fans of the rock bands were most likely to go all the way.
Meanwhile, fans of Coldplay, Adele and Lady Gaga were the least likely to have sex.
Katy Perry and Kings Of Leon fans also joined the least likely list, while devotees of Kanye West and Gorillaz were among the most likely to have sex on a first date.

Camille Grammer visited ‘The Joy Behar Show’ on Monday and talked about the end of her sex life with estranged husband Kelsey.
“We tried. We just didn’t mesh sexually,” she told Joy, when asked to explain her admission on ‘The View’ that she and Kelsey had not been intimate for more than two years before they separated.
“Was it his fault or your fault or both?” Joy asked.
“Could be both, but it was more on his end,” Camille said. Not only did Kelsey deny her sex, she added, but he also refused to cuddle with her–for a surprising reason.
“He was too busy watching FOX News,” she said. “He didn’t want to cuddle.”
Kelsey is seeking a quickie divorce from Camille so that he may marry his young fiancee, Kayte Walsh, as early as February.

TCA: 'Californication' Is Not Pornographic, Its Creator/Exec Producer Declares
From Ray Richmond who is contributing to Deadline Hollywood’s TCA coverage:
Responding to a charge from a critic during a TCA session in Pasadena today that the show was essentially soft core pornography during its third season, Californication creator/showrunner Tom Kapinos replied sharply, “That’s totally unfair.” He then went on to defend the show as having “never gone too far” before spelling out what he sees as the difference between what his series does and actual porn. “Porn is people having sex on film,” Kapinos believes. “These are people pretending to have sex while naked.”
Co-star Evan Handler was also quick to support his boss, adding, “Particularly in the case of my own sex scenes, they aren’t there to titillate but to move the story along. That’s not porn.”
