Mila Kunis Snubbed By Oscars! NOT COOL!!
Last night, she was pretty much a shoe-in, but Oscars decided to roll w/ 14-year old “True Grit” star Hailee Steinfeld in place of Mila Kunis. Others nominees for Best Supporting Actress include Amy Adams (‘
2010 Met Costume Institute Gala Benefit Red Carpet [PHOTOS]
The Costume Institute Gala Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the most lavish and exciting events as far as fashion. I would even put it above the Oscars, because ladies are willing to take more risks for the fashion event than the …read full story

Oscar Ratings: 'Avatar' Loses But ABC And AMPAS Aren't Blue Despite Greying Viewers
Despite lukewarm critical reception (did you read Deadline’s own live-snarking?), the ratings for the Academy Awards has ABC crowing. The telecast drew an average audience of 41.3 million viewers, which made the Oscars TV’s most watched entertainment broadcast since 2005, according to Nielsen estimates. The awards show apparently wasn’t hurt by the game of chicken that Disney played with Cablevision, one that forced millions of New Yorkers to miss the starting 17 minutes and more of the telecast. (Not to worry: they missed bupkis.) This marks the 2nd year in a row that the Oscars saw a ratings surge. The show [...]
Charlize Theron on her rose boobs dress I loved it!
I’m not really familiar with designers or labels if they don’t have obvious logos, but I said to Kaiser that I was pretty sure Charlize Theron was wearing John Galliano for Dior last night at the Oscars. That’s because I remember Charlize’s disastrous 2006 emerald Oscar gown with the giant bow on the shoulder [...]
Live tweeting/blogging the Oscars
If you care about these sort of things, I’m live-tweeting the Oscars over at @celebslam. I’ll repost here. 12pm – I need Iron Eagle on Blu-ray, and I need it bad. *ok, technically that wasn’t about the Oscars. We’re… …read full story
Independent Spirit Awards: winners, recap & photos
The Independent Spirit Awards have always been held the night before the Oscars, but this year they decided to move it up to the Friday before the Oscars. I have no idea why this happened, but whatever. Everyone showed up and got drunk and won big, with Precious and Crazy Heart being the [...]
No Oscarcast For This Cablevision Guy?
Writing reams of Oscar dish these past weeks has gotten me properly pumped up for Sunday’
OSCAR BARRED: Academy Of Shame Makes Decision That's Lame
So let me get this straight; Nicolas Chartier who financed The Hurt Locker and is one of the 4 officially credited producers can’t attend the Academy Awards because he sent a mass email that never even mentioned Avatar by name? And the Oscars governing body thinks his badmouthing is so much worse than what nearly everyone in the Best Picture category has done year after year? I find it ludicrous that the Academy of shame has made a decision so lame. So I must ask: is it mere coincidence that Academy president Tom Sherak (at one time a bigtime Fox movie exec), Oscars producers Bill Mechanic [...]
Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, Sharing Oscar Hosting Responsibilities
Two Hollywood veterans will be sharing hosting duties at the 82nd Academy Awards.
Telecast producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman said Martin and Baldwin are
“the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars.”
The producers have said they hope to resurrect Oscar’s ratings and make the show more fun by building on the changes introduced at [...]
Golden Globe nominations: Streep, Bullock, Clooney & Damon are faves
Oh, I had forgotten the Golden Globe nominations were coming out this morning! The Globes are probably one of the best barometers for the Oscars, although just because someone wins the Globe, or is nominated for a Globe, doesn’
UPDATE: Academy Picks Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin As 82nd Annual Oscar Hosts
BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Well, I beat the Academy to their own announcement, but only by a coupla minutes. (So I’ve changed “wants” to “picks” in the headline!) The two are starring with Meryl Streep in the upcoming holiday movie from Nancy Meyer, It’s Complicated, from Universal. And they’re friends, something Steve Martin kidded about in the AMPAS press release. (‘
