BuzzFoto Blind Item #589

After a night of drunken partying, this A/B list actor really got hurt by getting an injury from an antique collectors sword that someone had hanging in their home. He might have sported around a bandage and said he was hurt a more honorable way, but no. He was drunk, completely naked, and playing ‘ninja’ with another sauced up buddy.

In Case You Missed It: Academy Award Winners

Sandra Bullock, Academy Awards, Best Actress, The Blind Side Among the flashing lights, the glitz and the glamour, Hollywood paid homage to the “best of the best” movies for 2009, some of which are already available for viewing, while others will be available soon.

In case you missed it, here are last night’s Academy Award winners:

The Hurt Locker wins Best Pic, Kathryn Bigelow wins Best Director

What a beautiful historic moment! Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker, became the first women in the history of the Oscars to receive the Best Director Oscar. Not only that, but The Hurt Locker won Best Picture, the small, tiny, independent war film on a shoestring budget slayed the enormous Avatar juggernaut. [...]

Kathryn Bigelow Won The Best Director Award @ 2009 Oscars

Kathryn Bigelow Won The Best Director Award @ 2009 Oscars

Congrats to Kathryn Bigelow on becoming the first woman in the Academy’s 82-year history to earn Hollywood’s top prize for filmmakers. Besides taking home the Best Director Academy Award, Kathryn Bigelow’s Iraq war film “Hurt Locker” walked away as the big winner last night, winning a total of six awards!

Even though “Avatar” took a tremendous amount of time & money to create, it’ll still go down in history the highest grossing film in Hollywood history (at least for the foreseeable future). From a story standpoint, “Avatar” pretty must spoon feeds the audience about its overall agenda of peace & love, whereas “The Hurt Locker” left the door open for interpretation on many different levels—from what Iraqis think of the occupation to addictive nature of warfare. Goes without saying, but if you haven’t watched “Hurt Locker,” grab it on Blu-Ray today!

2ND UPDATE: Academy Decides Producer Credits On 'Hurt Locker' & 'Blind Side'

UPDATES More Best Picture Oscar Credit Controversy
UPDATES ‘Hurt Locker’ Oscar Credits Controversy
Heading off a potential Crash controversy in the Best Picture category, the Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences this afternoon cleared the way for the 4 credited producers of The Hurt Locker to stand onstage and receive Oscars if the film should emerge victorious on March 7th. Academy rules limit Best Picture nominations to three producers, except in extreme cases. I’ve learned it was decided after deliberations today that Greg Shapiro, Kathryn Bigelow, Mark Boal and Nicolas Chartier all pulled their weight and deserve the honor. A spokesperson [...]

Nominations For 82nd Academy Awards: 9 Each For 'Avatar' vs 'Hurt Locker'; 8 For 'Inglourious Basterds', 6 for 'Precious' & 'Up In The Air', 5 for 'Up'; So Who Got Robbed?

‘Hurt Locker’ Oscar Credits Controversy
UPDATE: Let me say from the outset that, for Best Picture, Star Trek was robbed. So was Invictus. And (500) Days of Summer. And The Messenger. And A Single Man. And Coraline. Meanwhile, the only real tension on March 7th will be whether Avatar or The Hurt Locker, and James Cameron or Kathryn Bigelow,  and Meryl Streep or Sandra Bullock, take the Oscar. The rest of the marquee categories are shoo-ins (Jeff Bridges, Mo’Nique, Christoph Waltz, The White Ribbon). Which is a tad more uncertainty and excitement than the world’s most boring broadcast has experienced in years past. Maybe ratings [...]
