The years-long decline of home video sales appears finally to have stabilized, the trade organization Digital Entertainment Group reports. While filmed home entertainment dipped 2% for the year in 2011, there were genuine positive signs. Annual spending on Blu-ray discs rose 20% last year, hitting $2 billion for the first time, the DEG says. Additionally, nearly 40 million homes now have Blu-ray playback devices, 38% more than in 2010. The decline in home video revenues has leveled off, with consumer spending on filmed home entertainment rising 1% for the second half of the year. The third quarter spending actually rose 5%, the first quarterly increase since 2008. Additionally, electronic sell-through was up 9% for the year, and spending on video-on-demand was up 7%. Consumers also continued to embrace HDTV, purchasing 27 million HD sets during 2011. HDTV penetration is now at more than 74.5 million U.S. households.

Rose McGowan got a little maintenance work done yesterday (January 3) as she was seen leaving the Byron and Tracey salon. Rose has been seen out more lately after relocating her digs from one end of LA to another. She allegedly sold her first home in Los Feliz due to allergies!
The Daily Mail reports:
The Charmed star sold her Las Feliz property earlier this year at a loss after mistakenly believing it was the cause of her allergies.
But she surely be feeling a little better after buying a new dream home in the Hollywood Hills for an eye-watering $1.39 million.
The new property has four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a two-car garage, an outdoor fireplace.

Not exactly your typical celebrity pad, but then again, Jonah Hills isn’t exactly your typical celebrity. He played it cool & bagged a very average looking home in L.A. which comes with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a tennis court & somewhat ghetto-looking pool. Let’s hope he has plans for major renovations (like, for instance, tearing it down & building a new pimp-pad). I have a feeling that’s what he’s doing since he mentioned he had a home under construction somewhere around the Los Angeles area during his “Moneyball” promotional tour a couple months ago.
