Christina Aguilera To Perform National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV
If you’ve been wondering just who will be rocking The National Anthem on February 6 at the Cowboys Stadium in North Texas for Super Bowl XLV, wonder no more. The honor is being bestowed to pop princess Christina Aguilera.
“I have been performing the (National) Anthem since I was 7 years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true. I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event.”
The Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform at the Halftime Show.
Aguilera previously performed during halftime of Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta.
Keanu Reeves: Matrix Rumors Not True
Actor Keanu Reeves, who starred in The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, and The Matrix Revolutions, says all those rumors ripe about a return to do yet more sequels to the blockbuster original are false.
Recently, rumors have run rampant that Reeves, as well as filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski, have been working on two Matrix sequels, however, a spokesman for the actor squashed the rumors on Monday, and told EW that the stories of bringing another sequel to the big screen are simply not true.
Fans of Reeves need not depair, however. Look for the actor in the upcoming film, Henry’s Crime, due to be released sometime this year.
Macaulay Culkin Denies Dating Porn Star
So, it seems all those rumors of late insisting that actor Macaulay Culkin, 30, has been dating a porn star by the name of Irene Lopez, are false.
According to Culkin, Lopez is just a fan. His tale is that he simply stopped to snap a photo with her at her request, and the rest is fodder for the tabloids, but Lopez has been singing a different tune, and has been quoted as saying that she and the Home Alone actor have been spending quite a bit of time together away from the cameras.
According to Culkin:
“As I do with many fans, I briefly met and took a photo with Irene Lopez at her request. I have had no contact with this woman in any capacity, social or otherwise before or since that picture was taken. Any reports to the contrary are false.”
Culkin’s rep, Michelle Bega, concurs, telling E! Entertainment:
“The reports that Macaulay Culkin is dating Irene Lopez are completely false. We are disappointed that Ms. Lopez has told E! Entertainment fictitious stories regarding Mr. Culkin.”
Culkin and long time girlfriend, actress Mila Kunis, who began dating in 2002, ended their long term relationship in 2010, after 8 years together.
Culkin was previously married to Rachel Miner from 1998-2002.
Britney Spears Wont Perform at Grammy Awards
If you’ve been wondering whether pop princess Britney Spears has her heart set on taking the stage for a performance at this years Grammy Awards show, it looks like the answer is, “No.”
Contrary to an earlier rumored report that Spears would be performing during the February 13th awards telecast, which airs live on CBS from the LA Staples Center, Jive Records has jumped in to set the record straight, stating those reports are not true; Spears has no plans to perform.
Aw…shucks.
Daniel Craig Reprises Bond Role
Fans of actor Daniel Craig will be delighted to hear that the actor has agreed to reprise hs role as iconic super-spy James Bond in another 007 film, which begins production later this year.
This marks Craig’s third film in the franchise, previously starring in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
Sam Mendes will direct the yet untitled film, scheduled to be released in November, 2012.
Eddie Furlong Arrested
Actor Eddie Furlong, 33, probably best known for his stint as John Connor in the film, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, was arrested and booked in LA on Tuesday for allegedly violating an order of protection taken out by his estranged wife, actress Rachael Kneeland, last year.
A spokesman for the LA City Attorney’s Office said that Furlong was taken into custody on Tuesday morning while in court to attend a hearing on the order of protection, which Kneeland says the actor violated.
Furlong is denying the allegations.
According to reports, in 2010, Furlong was ordered to stay at least 100 feet away from Kneeland for three years, after she filed court documents stating that the actor had grabbed, bruised and pushed her, as well as threatened to have her beaten up with chains and baseball bats.
At the time, Kneeland also stated that Furlong was a cocaine user and his behavior was unpredictable.
Look for Furlong this month in The Green Hornet, which premieres in theaters on January 14 nationwide.
Audrina Patridge Gets Her Own Show
Producer Mark Burnett and VH1 have teamed up to give us yet another dose of celebrity reality, this time centering around the private life of Audrina Patridge.
Patridge is no doubt best known for her work on MTV’s The Hills, and she recently finished up a season on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
Her new show, Audrina, is scheduled for an April premiere on VH1.

Vivica A. Fox Engaged
Actress Vivica A. Fox will have her turn to walk down the aisle after accepting a marriage proposal from boyfriend, Atlanta club promoter Omar White.
The pair, who announced their engagement through a Fox rep, became engaged on December 26 in South Beach, Florida where they were vacationing.
White popped the question with an 8 carat sparkler at the Ritz Carlton.
Fox, who has been dating White for about a year, was previously married to singer Christopher Harvest from 1998 to 2002.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Cee Lo Green Headline SNL
Amid rumors that actress Gwyneth Paltrow and singer Cee Lo Green may double-up on a duet sometime this year, the two will be headlining NBC’s Saturday Night Liveon Janaury 15. Paltrow will be hosting, while Green will be the musical guest and also have a few acting cameo’s of his own.
This will mark Paltrow’s third time hosting SNL.

John Lennons White Suit Sells at Auction
The iconic white suit music legend John Lennon wore on the cover of the infamous Beatles album, Abbey Road, was sold on Saturday during the annual New Year’s Day auction at the Braswell Gallery in Connecticut.
The winning bidder - at $46,000 - requested to remain anonymous.
The suit, which was made in Paris in 1969, was expected to bring in at least $115,000.
The famed album cover, which was shot by photographer Ian MacMillan on August 8, 1969, is one of the most memorable album covers in history, largely due to the fact that it was last album The Beatles recorded. The album was released in 1969 in both the UK and the United States.
The album cover is named after Abbey Road, a thoroughfare located in the borough of Camden and the city of Westminster in London, where the famed cover shot was taken.

Kellie Pickler and Kyle Jacobs Tie The Knot
Former American Idol contestant and current country songbird Kellie Pickler, 24, and longtime boyfriend Kyle Jacobs, 37, rang in the New Year by becoming man and wife.
According to People.com, the pair were married on Saturday, January 1, in a small ceremony on an island in the Caribbean.
The couple, who have been dating since 2008, announced their engagement earlier this year.
David Tennant and Georgia Moffett Engaged
David Tennant, 39, probably most noted for his stint as the good doctor on the British television series, Doctor Who (from 2005 to 2010), and actress Georgia Moffett, 26, are engaged.
The couple met on the set of the high rated television show in 2008, when Moffett made a guest appearance on the series, playing the role of Tennant’s daughter.
Moffett, who has an 8 year old son, is the daughter of Peter Davison, who played the lead role in the series from 1982 to 1984.
The couple plan to wed on New Year’s Day, 2012.
Toni Braxton Gets Reality Show
Can’t get enough reality TV? Need more drama in your day? If this sounds like you then take heart, because songstress Toni Braxton has decided to throw her hat into the reality ring.
Braxton, along with her four singing siblings (Traci, Towanda, Tamar and Trina) have signed on for their own reality series, Braxton Family Values, which will premier in April on WE TV.
A rep for WE TV told TV Guide that the show will follow the family dynamics of the sisters as they interact with one another, all while trying to make careers for themselves.

Shania Twain Weds in Puerto Rico
Country songbird Shania Twain, 45, walked down the aisle this weekend to marry her sweetheart, Frederic Thiebaud.
According to a rep for Twain, the pair were wed in a small sunset ceremony on New Year’s Day in Puerto Rico, attended by about 40 friends and relatives.
The couple met in 2009. This is the second marriage for both.
Twain was formerly married to music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange. The pair wed in 1993 and together have one son, Eja D’Angelo, 9. The couple split in 2008 after it was revealed that Lange had allegedly had an affair with Twain’s best friend, Anne-Marie Thiebaud, the wife of her current husband. Their divorce was final in June, 2010.
Valerie Bertinelli Marries in Malibu
Actress Valerie Bertinelli, 50, and her longtime boyfriend, financial planner Tom Vitale, 49, really know how to ring in the New Year!
The couple tied the knot on January 1 in an intimate ceremony attended by about 100 guests at their spread in Malibu.
The couple, who met in 2004, have been engaged since March, 2010.
Bertinelli, who once dated Steven Spielberg back in the day, was married to rocker Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. Together, they have one son, Wolfgang Van Halen, 19.
John Mellencamp and Wife Elaine Irwin Call It Quits
After 18 years of wedded bliss, the ride has come to and end for rocker John Mellencamp, 59, and his wife, Almay cosmetics model Elaine Irwin, 41.
The couple, who first met when Irwin appeared at a shooting for the cover of Mellencamps’ 1991 album, Whenever We Wanted, were engaged 10 weeks later.
They married in September, 1992.
The couple have two sons, Hud and Speck.
Mellencamp has five children, and has been married three times. His first marriage was to Priscilla Esterline (1970-1981). The couple had one daughter, Michelle. In 1981, he married Victoria Granucci and together they had two daughters, Teddi Jo and Justice. The couple divorced in 1989.
A rep for the couple says:
“The Mellencamps are proud of their 20 years together and are very happy with their accomplishments both as parents and as a family.”
Meanwhile, rumor has it that Mellecamp has hooked up with actress Meg Ryan. Spies say the two were seen “arm-in-arm” in late October, and that Ryan has recently popped up backstage during the rocker’s latest tour.
