Tim McGraw has explained that the pleasant experience of filming Country Strong has inspired him to continue acting.
In an interview with The Boston Herald, the country music star expressed an interest in taking on darker roles.
“I love the dramatic, heavy, darker stuff; that’s what I do best as an actor,” he said.
McGraw also suggested that even after playing dependable husbands in The Blind Side and Country Strong, he hasn’t quite grown tired of portraying the devoted spouse on the big screen.
“I wouldn’t have played any of these parts if I hadn’t liked the story. But I’m looking forward to killing someone,” he joked.
The musician has scored more than a half-dozen platinum-selling LPs over the course of his 18-year recording career.
Country Strong opens January 7 in the US and on March 25 in the UK.

As you guys know, this is Leighton Meester’s big gamble project that’ll hopefully catapult her into the big leagues. With Blake Lively also having success on the big screen, I don’t see “Gossip Girl” lasting much longer. Sorry, girls.
