Tim McGraw has explained that the pleasant experience of filming Country Strong has inspired him to continue acting.
In an interview with The Boston Herald, the country music star expressed an interest in taking on darker roles.
“I love the dramatic, heavy, darker stuff; that’s what I do best as an actor,” he said.
McGraw also suggested that even after playing dependable husbands in The Blind Side and Country Strong, he hasn’t quite grown tired of portraying the devoted spouse on the big screen.
“I wouldn’t have played any of these parts if I hadn’t liked the story. But I’m looking forward to killing someone,” he joked.
The musician has scored more than a half-dozen platinum-selling LPs over the course of his 18-year recording career.
Country Strong opens January 7 in the US and on March 25 in the UK.

“It wasn’t that I was proud of it,” she said. “But it was certainly a recognition for my self control. I definitely had some pretty amazing willpower to get down to 82 pounds. And that’s what I was holding on to. I didn’t think about anything else.”
Portia reveals that she ate only 300 calories a day at the height of her disorder, and E! reports that she attributes her food issues to anxiety over being gay.
