Mo’Nique may be known as a comedianne, but she shows her acting chops as an abusive mother in the film ‘Precious.’ She knew how to play the role.

After only two episodes, the CW network says it’s decided to pull the plug on The Beautiful Life.
Variety said the CW confirmed yesterday that production on the drama, which starred actress Mischa Barton and model Elle MacPherson, was halted in New York after the series’ first two episodes garnered dismal ratings.
The second episode of the show earned a paltry 1.1 million viewers and was beat out by a rerun of My Network TV’s Magic’s Biggest Secrets Revealed.
Insiders say the series will most likely be replaced next week by repeats of Melrose Place and other dramas.
The Beautiful Life, which followed the lives of several models, was loosely based on the modeling times of actor Ashton Kutcher, whose Katalyst Production Company produced the show with CBS TV Studios.

Mischa Barton has said working, traveling and wisdom tooth surgery amounted to a “perfect storm” that eventually led to her recent hospitalization.
The former star of The O.C. and cast member of the upcoming TV drama, The Beautiful Life, was placed under a psychiatric hold in a Los Angeles hospital this summer.
Barton recently spoke with Time Out New York about her hospitalization in her first interview since her release.
“I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once.”
She also told Time Out that she had been traveling abroad and then had terrible wisdom tooth surgery.
“I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn’t take those during work.”
She added:
“It’s been a nightmare. I was down in the dumps about everything there for a while. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom about things and have to get the most stressed out just to feel better again. I got completely stressed out and couldn’t handle everything, and now I feel really in control.”
