Shia LaBeouf Brings In The Big Bucks For Movie Studios

Shia LaBeouf Brings In The Big Bucks For Movie Studios

For the second year in a row Shia LaBeouf was at the top of the Forbes list “Hollywood’s Best Actors For The Buck”. Here’s how the numbers are figured:

We crunched the numbers using salaries, box-office earnings and film budgets. The result: an average profit number for every $1 the studio paid the actor.

Who is helping to make the studios big money? Here’s the top 10 list:

1. Shia LaBeouf $81
2. Anne Hathaway $64
3. Daniel Radcliffe $61
4. Robert Downey Jr. $33
5. Cate Blanchett $27
6. Jennifer Aniston $21
7. Meryl Streep $21
8. Johnny Depp $18
9. Nicolas Cage $17
10. Sarah Jessica Parker $17

I was a little shocked that Johnny Depp wasn’t higher up that list, with “Alice In Wonderland’s” huge haul along with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, but his paycheck is significantly higher than the others, so it brings his “score” down. And if Daniel Radcliffe made the list, you’d think Emma Watson and Rupert Grint would be almost tied with him since they all reportedly earn the same amount of the same movies?

I’m thinking Shia needs to ask for a raise!

'City Slickers' Scribes Re-Join Billy Crystal

Writers Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel have come aboard to do a quick rewrite of Us & Them, the Andy Fickman-directed film. The scribes worked with the film’s star/producer, Billy Crystal, on City Slickers, Forget Paris and Father’s Day.  Us & Them, picked up in turnaround from Paramount, is on a fast track as a co-production between Walden Media and Fox. Crystal plays a grandpa left alone to care for his grandchildren. He has to navigate to overcome generational shifts to bond with the kids, and try to repair a rift with his daughter. They’re rewriting the draft by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse.

BuzzFoto Blind Item #387

These two actors were out of the country promoting their new film in which they costar together. Taking a break from the events, the two grabbed some dinner together. The A Lister got a text on his cell phone during the meal. He got excited and told his B list buddy to leave the restaurant and walk across the street. At a bakery across from the restaurant were two identical twins who the A Lister sees regularly when in town, even though he is a married man. He introduced the girls to the B Lister and made them switch digits so that when the B Lister comes back into town, he will have a hook up. He is in a relationship also.

Kellan Lutz Helps New Orleans; Doesn't Want To Keep Taking His Shirt Off

‘Twilight’ star and Calvin Klein model Kellan Lutz chatted with Us Weekly about the ups and downs of being a sex symbol and about working to help rebuild New Orleans.

“Producers and studios know what sells,”"It’s nice to be one of the guys that can help sell a movie by taking his shirt off.”

“By no means do I want to be a piece of meat for the rest of my career. It’s funny when you get asked to do a talk show, and then they follow it up with requesting you take your shirt off.”

Kellan, who recently filmed a movie in the area, has been spending time in New Orleans helping to build houses with the St. Bernard Project. Kellan was introduced to the project by his girlfriend, AnnaLynne McCord.

“We were working around the clock at 50 hours at a time in different shifts,” Lutz marveled. “We got it done just in time. We had so many people come out and lend a helping hand. It was so touching. “You don’t really grasp what is going on unless you are down there experiencing it.”

Kellan will be back in the area when he films Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and hopes to help some more:

“I’m hoping to truck down and work with the St. Bernard Project [there] as well. Hopefully I’ll be bring some other cast members too.”

When asked if he thought Rob Pattinson would volunteer for that:

It would be a great surprise for everyone,” Lutz said, laughing. “Although I would have to take video of Rob trying to hammer a nail, he might hurt himself.”

Miley Cyrus Sporting An "Older" Look In NYC?

Miley Cyrus Sporting A More Mature Hair Style In NYC

Miley Cyrus was photographed this afternoon as she left her hotel in New York City.

I think Miley’s outfit is cute and youthful, but what about her hair and makeup? I just think the hairdo is making her look too old, what do you think? Maybe it’s not the hairstyle alone, maybe it’s the heavy makeup? I understand that she’s probably heading to an appearance or a performance and they need it to be heavier for those things. There’s just something almost “too mature” about her look here. I certainly don’t mean she should be in pig tails and ribbons, but there’s something off about the look. Is it just me?

Paris Hilton Faces Possible Financial Fallout From Drug Arrest

Paris Hilton Faces Possible Financial Fallout From Drug Arrest

Paris Hilton might be facing a possible blacklisting situation in the Vegas clubs. A club executive who has booked Paris for paid appearances in the past says that she may not be at the top of the list of personalities they want to hire for parties in the near future.

Because Vegas nightclubs are under so much scrutiny right now, I don’t know how welcome she would be,” “Considering she’s busted for cocaine, people might assume that she’s going to the club either to use coke or she’s already on coke, and no club wants to be associated with that.”

Another Vegas “insider” shared:

“A club would never be allowed to book Paris for an appearance right now,” “A club would want to book her because of the press it would generate right now, but it would never happen because no one wants to jeopardize gaming licensing or liquor licensing.”

He says that she wouldn’t be turned away at the door, but she would face inspection:

“Her bag would be checked before entering the club.”

Paris has commanded big money for her appearances in the past, so this could hit her bank account hard. I didn’t realize just how many nightclub openings and parties she attends until I was searching for pictures of her in Vegas – wow! The ones in the gallery are just a tiny portion of what I found!

Mark Canton Bites Back At Jim Cameron For Filleting 'Piranha 3D'

A war of words broke out today between Avatar director James Cameron and producer Mark Canton over whether Weinstein Co/Dimension’s current version of Piranha 3D is a crapfest. (Cameron was hired and then fired as the director of the original 1981 Piranha Part 2). Here’s what they are saying:
Cameron told VanityFair.com while publicizing his Avatar re-release: “I tend almost never to throw other films under the bus, but [Piranha 3D] is exactly an example of what we should not be doing in 3D. Because it just cheapens the medium and reminds you of the bad 3D horror films from the ’70s and ’80s, like Friday The 13th 3D. When movies got to the bottom of the barrel of their creativity and at the last gasp of their financial lifespan, they did a 3-D version to get the last few drops of blood out of the turnip. And that’s now what’s happening now with 3D. It is a renaissance. Right now the biggest and best films are being made in 3D. Martin Scorsese is making a film in 3D [Hugo Cabret]. Disney’s biggest film of the year — Tron: Legacy — is coming out in 3D. So it’s a whole new ballgame.”
Canton issued this rebuttal via Dimension’s PR department: “As a producer in the entertainment industry, Jim Cameron’s comments on VanityFair.com are very disappointing to me and the team that made Piranha 3D.  Mr. Cameron, who … Read More
